It was honours even in the 17's match away to Clyde 17's in their League Cup Section.
In a game that was incident packed, full of commitment by both teams, United took the
lead in 44 minutes in a great move which saw Hutchinson play a great ball to the left
to Aitken who crossed low for Campbell to rifle a great left foot finish into the right
hand corner of the net. This lead was short lived as Clyde went straight from kick
off to equalise before half time. The second half saw the game go from end to end,
with both teams having chances to win the game. United defended well throughout and
when the defence was breached Clyde found keeper Kinniburgh in fine form. In the last
15 minutes United hit the bar with a Milligan effort and were denied a stonewall penalty
when Muir was upended in the penalty area. Coach Davy Adams commented after the game
"I was delighted with the application and work rate of the boys, Clyde is a difficult
place to come to."
