16s v stranraer

16's Power Past Stranraer

The game between Ayr & Stranraer was at times a scrappy affair, with both sets of players working hard without really showing any quality especially in the first half.

Ayr went into the half time break, having scored three goals with Ryan Nisbet a starring role with all three strikes.

Ayr grew in confidence from this and started to show some more quality in the second half, however it was Stranraer who managed to open the scoring account in the second 45.

Ayr goals soon followed though, with Ryan Nisbitt scoring his fourth before team mate Sean Robertson managed to get on the score sheet as he grabbed himself a hatrick. Adam Fraser also got in on the act with a single goal.

Ayr played the last 15 minutes well on top of Stranraer, showing some quality in their performance.

Coach Davie White said afterwards "We created lots of scoring opportunities today, without showing our true quality from the start. They did however have the character to build a good performance together as the match progressed   and credit must go to all the players today for their effort during the game."
