Ayr 16s v Arbroath
3 goals in the second half ensured Ayr 16s got off to a good start in their new league campaign.
Robertson opened the scoring when he broke free of the Arbroath defence and slammed the ball home from 18 yards and soon after, some good individual play by Graham, saw him being brought down in the box and Ross Wyllie stepped up to slot the penalty away.
Arbroath then scored from one of the very few attacks they had, however McCubbin showed great determination to get onto the end of a cross from the left, to place the ball into the net to increase Ayr’s lead.
Coach Davie White said “ At times our possession football was very good  and this was highlighted by the number of chances we created. Defensively we did well and our goalkeeper and defenders showed great concentration. Overall we are delighted with the standard that was on show from all players”
