15s

15s Return In Style

Ayr United Football Academy under 15s returned over the weekend with a couple of decent performances against performance level teams.

Friday 6th August saw the new 15 side play their first game of the season after the summer break and pitched them against Raith Rovers. Although the boys looked a bit rusty, they more than matched their Raith counterparts with Mick Ahern notching Ayr's goal with a far post header.

Sunday 8th August saw the 15s travel to Hamilton who are one of the strongest teams at this level. However the Accies were outplayed throughout by Ayr who held the lead until the last 4 minutes with Ayr's goal coming from Ryan Nisbet who seems to have started scoring from where he left last season.

Manager Neil Duffy beamed when speaking about the boys stating "This was an outstanding performance with no failures and to be fair it could quite easily have ended with a four or five goal Ayr win.  Ryan took his goal well and there were some excellent performances from Ross Campbell, Mick Ahern and Aedan Keegan."
